Omar Group Presents at the BH&HPA Conference 2017

Omar Group, were delighted to sponsor and be in attendance at the BH&HPA’s annual conference in Birmingham last week where they presented on the newly updated British standard to which park homes (and some lodges) are built - BS 3632:2015.

The BH&HPA’s annual conference is a key event in the industry’s calendar, bringing together parks and suppliers from across the UK.  The event, held over two days, included an extensive programme covering everything from legal matters to social media and recruitment, and with delegates also treated to a fantastic social programme; it was an event not to be missed!

The Omar Group presentation by John Hobday-Pepper, Technical Director, Peter Berwick, Group Sales & Design Director and Richard Sigsworth, Special Projects Director explained the new British standard and what it means in real terms to park owners.  A subject matter that could (especially considering the busy social calendar and subsequent late nights) send some to sleep, was injected with humour and finished off with a quiz to ensure delegates paid attention!

Held on both days of the conference, delegates were tested on how much they had learnt and two lucky winners won £500 worth of Marks & Spencer’s vouchers and £500 to a charity of their choice.  Russ Hammond, Parks Director at Greenford Park Homes won on the first day of the conference, choosing Wrap Pyjama Fairies… helping poorly children sparkle, to receive the donation. On the second day, Glenn Jones, Owner of Discover Parks beat the competition and named St Michael’s Hospice as his chosen charity.
