New HR Director for Omar Group
Omar Group is delighted to announce that with the continuing expansion of the group, Karen Wilson has been appointed to join the executive management team in the role of Human Resources Director. Karen, a highly motivated and strategic thinking HR professional, joined the organisation on Monday 31st July.
The position of Human Resources Director has been created by Omar Group CEO & Chairman, Dean Westmoreland, following recent significant investment from Rutland Partners; a private equity investor, who has enabled Omar to further expand the business. Omar operate from two well-established facilities in Brandon and Hull and have a workforce of approximately 400. Given the successful organic growth of the business and having historically outperformed the market, doubling sales in the last three years, Omar is set to create more job opportunities with further expansion in both Brandon and Hull.
In addition to Omar Group’s core brands which manufacture luxury park homes and lodges - Omar Park & Leisure Homes and Wessex Unique Lodges & Park Homes, the group has also developed other revenue streams – OPDS, a park development and operations service; Boutique Lodges, a unique opportunity for landowners to create their very own lodge park and Omar Refurbishment Services, a park home and lodge refurbishment service. These three newer revenue streams not only support the group’s on-going growth, but drive demand for further employment.
With 20 years of HR experience, which includes international exposure and a number of years working in the US, Karen will lead the human resources function, actively recruiting skilled individuals to complement the existing workforce. Karen, a Cambridge University graduate, has previously worked within a number of growing manufacturing businesses of a similar size where she was primarily employed to raise the HR profile and to drive the businesses personal development programme. In addition to Karen’s work related successes, other credentials include being the Chair of Governors at Downham Feoffees Primary School, as well as the Fixtures Secretary at Ely Tigers Rugby Club for the Youth and Minis sections.
